Guess Guess fragrances and colognes is an American fashion house founded by brothers Georges, Armand, Paul and Maurice Marciano. Born in Morocco and raised in France, the brothers moved to California in 1977 to launch the business, using the seed money provided by the family's Jordache jeans business. The first jeans produced by the house of Guess were the "Marlin", which were stone-washed and featured a distinctive ankle zipper. As the design of jeans continued to flourish from the late 1970s into the early 1980s, Guess introduced captivating products at just the right time. The brand was introduced to the American market through retailer Bloomingdale.
